2 min read

Project Overview

Client: Lebanese American University (LAU)
Year: 2019

Project Context

The Lebanese American University's Gilbert and Rose-Marie Chagoury School of Medicine and LAU Medical Center-Rizk Hospital collaborate to support rural, disadvantaged communities in Lebanon through mobile healthcare services. This brings diagnostic services and treatment to remote areas with limited access to healthcare, serving and addressing the needs of rural communities.

Scope of Work

MEDILab procured and installed a mobile clinic and equipped it to offer a range of free diagnostic tests to screen for non-communicable chronic diseases such as diabetes, heart disease, high cholesterol, and several cancers, amongst others. MEDILab ensured the successful installation and operation of the clinic's diagnostic medical equipment, and conducted comprehensive training for the healthcare professionals and other staff.

Project Impact

The procurement of the mobile clinic and medical equipment facilitates improved access to healthcare in remote areas of Lebanon. By providing the necessary resources and expertise, MEDILab facilitated the availability of diagnostic tests for non-communicable diseases and supported service development in underserved areas.
