Supply of an Inductively Coupled Plasma Optical Emission Spectrometer (ICP-OES) & Accessories

2 min read

Project Overview

Client: International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA)
Beneficiary:
Jordan Atomic Energy Commission
Year: 2023

Project Context

The Jordan Atomic Energy Commission in Amman required a cutting-edge system to facilitate uranium processing and exploration projects across the state. The system will be used as part of the laboratory’s commercial plan, offering QC and QA testing to all relevant industries and research institutions in Jordan and the wider Middle East.

Scope of Work

We successfully procured and supplied an Inductively Coupled Plasma Optical Emission Spectrometer (ICP-OES) to the Jordanian Atomic Energy Commission. The ICP-OES instrument serves as a crucial quality control and assurance tool for the accurate detection and measurement of trace elements in environmental and hydrometallurgical process samples, ensuring the quality of raw materials and final products. We also conducted the installation, setup, and calibration of the laboratory equipment, providing comprehensive training to the end user on equipment operation and preventative maintenance. Additionally, we tailored the device's parameters precisely to the specific application needs of the Commission’s staff, enabling focused examination and study of their chosen materials.

Project Impact

The supply of this analytical tool facilitates uranium exploration and processing, supporting the development and competitiveness of the atomic energy industry in Jordan. Our comprehensive training empowered staff to feel more confident utilizing advanced technology, thus increasing capacity and upskilling in research and innovation.
